Slide is rated to 150 lbs, bed to 200 lbs. You can put a second mattress on the floor underneath it, but theres little head room, cant sit up under there. My 5 year old son loves it. Plays around on the slide much more than I thought he would / its noisy, because its . Only unexpected drawback it that the height of the bed makes it difficult (for the grownup) for cosy bedtime story reading. A bedside chair is a little low. Still, we are happy with it.
