I bought my son a loft bed with a slide for him to transition from crib to bed. However, after assembling the bed I started having mommy anxiety, all I could picture was him standing up and falling out in the night so I disassembled the bed and put it in the basement. I was left with a mattress on the floor. I wanted an inexpensive bed frame that would get me through the pre-loft bed years. I am so glad I chose this bed, it more than fits the bill, for the money it is awesome. I will warn you that it is super heavy (Im sure the poor Fed-Ex man that delivered it will cringe when he sees another package with my address on it), I had to remove the packaging and carry it upstairs piece by piece in order to get it in my house. So plan ahead for lifting assistance. It was fairly easy so assemble, I looked them all over to begin with so I understood what I was getting into (tip: the small screws that go to the drawer slides are in the bag with the knobs; good to know trust me). The directions recommend 2 people but I accomplished it by myself without much difficulty (all with 2 toddlers running around) so trust me its not difficult. Its not super heavy duty and Im sure it wont stand up to tons of abuse (the drawers are a little flimsy) but for $114 and free shipping you really cant go wrong. Its a good bed for the money, if your looking for a family heirloom piece look elsewhere and spend a lot more money otherwise this is the bed for you :)
VERY HAPPY :)
