The slats are sturdy and close enough together to support the mattress while still providing good air circulation. The bed height isnt too low for comfortably getting in and out, with under-bed storage clearance. Though its too heavy to move alone it could be assembled by one person. Took two of us 20 minutes to put it together. Instructions are clear, hardware is quality, and only thing youll need thats not provided is a phillips head screwdriver.
