I read reviews about the bed and looked at the materials listing. I could have sworn it said the bed was all pine. All of the drawers are very cheap and will break in their first year of use. The outside of the drawer itself, head and footboard, rails, and slats are real wood. Also, it came with a chipped piece. Great storage option.
